Bio

Amanda Norman's work is shown in galleries and private collections throughout the United States. Her fresh take on traditional portraiture has gained her clients from coast to coast including interior designers, art collectors and celebrities.This Nashville native graduated with honors from Brown University in 2004 with a degree in Visual Art. Norman also studied graphic design at The New School in NYC as well as sculpture and site-specific installation at RISD's Pont Aven School in France.

Statement

Whether it's the signature head tilt of a well-loved lab or the bright eyes of a child on his first birthday, being able to caputure the individual quirks and subtle expressions that make each pet or baby unique is what makes being a portrait artist so rewarding. It's a fabulous feeling when a client says, "You captured him perfectly! That's not just A pug, that's MY Charlie. He always had the funniest underbite..." I love being able to provide my clients with work that they feel a part of.

All custom portraits come on 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas with the painting wrapping around the edges.

GICLEES:

Giclees are a high quality photo of a painting printed on canvas. It's a less expensive alternative to commissioning a custom portrait. Do you see a dog that looks like yours or do you have a friend who is simply a pug lover? Or, did you get a portrait of your baby for yourself but want to get giclees for the grandparents?

10"x10" Giclees Starting at $145

All giclees come on high-quality gallery wrapped canvas and are handpainted black or gold around the edges. Turn around time is 2-3 weeks.

Gift certificates are available for any amount you choose. Whether you're wanting to contribute towards a painting for a friend, trying to surprise mom with a portrait but want her to choose the picture or simply need a personal last minute gift...

Order

Placing an order for a custom portrait is simple.

One: Send me the image you wish to have painted. It can be a digital file sent via email (recommended) or a photograph sent via standard mail (address on contact page). The best photos are high resolution and in natural light (no flash); however, I can make any photo work. If you are in the Nashville area and would like photography assistance, I'm available to help for an additional fee.

Two: Choose your size. Standard sizes and pricing are as follows; however, I am happy to accommodate additional sizes upon request.

Three: Choose background. If you already know the background that you'd like for your portrait, go ahead and let me know. But, if you'd like to give it some more thought or if you'd like some input from me, I'm willing to share suggestions once I get started. I'm happy to try to match complimentary colors to a particular decor, a favorite color or a background that you already see on my site.

Payment: Once I receive your image, I will email you an invoice to be paid before I start your order. A 50% deposit is requested once an order is placed. The remaining 50% is to be paid upon delivery.

Time Frame: General turnaround time is 8 weeks; however, if you'd like your painting for a special date, please let me know. Due to increased volume, Holiday orders placed after November 1st may be subject to a $75 rush fee as my schedule allows. Didn't make it in time for the holidays and don't want to rush it? Purchase a gift certificate instead!

Delivery: All orders are shipped via UPS. An additional shipping charge applies and will be noted on each individual invoice.
